Jura can be approached by air or car ferry via the Isle of Islay, or directly by passenger ferry (Summer only).
By Air
There are flights from Glasgow Airport to Islay Airport. The flight takes about thirty minutes and the journey then continues by hire car or bus and short ferry crossing to Jura.
By Ferry
There is a ferry from Kennacraig (West Loch Tarbert) to Port Askaig or Port Ellen on Islay see
www.calmac.co.uk. The journey takes just over two hours. Car space on this ferry must be booked in advance; alternatively cars may be left at Kennacraig.
You then take a second ferry for the nine minute crossing from Port Askaig to Feolin on Jura, operated by ASP Ship Management (Tel: 01496 840681). This is a regular service running approximately once an hour throughout the day and there is no need to book unless you wish to cross after 1830 weekdays or 1800 on Sunday.
In the Summer there is a fast passenger ferry service on the mainland from Tayvallich to Craighouse; the ferry arrives within walking distance of the house. See www.jurapassengerferry.com
